Ear Reconstruction Team


The Ear Reconstruction Team is led by Dr Aleksandar Urosevic and Dr Aleksandar Vlahovic.

Dr Urosevic is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon with over 15 years of experience. His special interest is ear reconstruction which led him to complete a fellowship in Paris with Dr Francoise Firmin, one of the leading global experts in ear reconstruction.

Dr Vlahovic is a pediatric and plastic/reconstructive surgeon with 18 years of experience. He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Belgrade Medical Faculty. His specialty is solving different types of congenital deformities in children, including all types of reconstructive and plastic surgery procedures.

Dr Aleksandar Urosevic

Specialist in plastic and reconstructive surgery.


Aleksandar Urosevic M.D. has been a specialist in plastic and reconstructive surgery since 2004. He graduated from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Medicine. He was employed at the Clinic for plastic, reconstructive surgery and burns (Clinical Center of Serbia) from 1998 until 2018. During his residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery he was the chief resident in charge of work organization and improving the system of education for future plastic surgeons. He completed his residency in 2004.

In 2003, he studied modern techniques in aesthetic surgery and ear reconstruction with Dr Juarez Avelar in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In addition, he lived in Paris in 2014 and 2015 where he completed a fellowship with Prof. Francoise Firmin, a leading global expert in ear reconstruction and modern face-lift techniques. Following this fellowship, Dr Urosevic was the first surgeon to implement new techniques for ear reconstruction in Serbia.

He is a consultant in the most eminent plastic and aesthetic surgery clinics in Belgrade. Dr Urosevic is an active member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) since 2006 and a member of the Serbian society for plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery (SRBPRAS).

Dr Urosevic’s extensive experience at the public (state) Clinic for plastic, reconstructive surgery and burns has given him an invaluable breadth of knowledge on successfully treating the most complicated issues in reconstructive surgery. He has transferred this knowledge into the area of ear reconstruction where he is ready to help all patients, even the most complex cases. Besides loving his job, he feels great responsibility towards each individual patient and values greatly open communication and being available for his patients 24/7.

Dr Urosevic is married and has three children.

Dr Aleksandar Vlahovic

A specialist in children's surgery and specialist in plastic and reconstructive surgery.


Dr Vlahovic completed his residency in pediatric surgery in 2001 and his residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery in 2015. He has been working at the Institute for the Mother and Child Health Care of Serbia “Dr Vukan Cupic” since 1997. He received his MSc. From the University of Belgrade in 2005 for his work on the usage of modern classifications of vascular anomalies in children for diagnostics and treatment. In December 2010 he completed his PhD on the effectiveness of round excision techniques in surgical treatments of hemangiomas in children. He became a teaching assistant in 2011 and in 2018 he was elected Assistant Professor at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Medicine, for the field of Pediatric surgery with anesthesia.

Dr Vlahovic completed fellowships in London at the „Great Ormond Street“ hospital in 2003 with Dr Bryan Somerland (an expert in cleft palate deformities) and at the University of Tokyo in 2007 at their Clinic for plastic and reconstructive surgery with Prof Yoshiaki Hosaka. As a guest lecturer he spent a month in 2012 at the Clinic for plastic and reconstructive surgery of the LKH University in Graz, Austria where he lectured on pediatric Pediatric surgery.

Dr Vlahovic has authored numerous publications in international scientific journals. His primary area of research has been related to treatment of vascular anomalies in children but he has covered other topics related to pediatric plastic and reconstructive surgery. He is the co-author of the “Pediatric and adolescent plastic surgery for the clinician“ textbook, issued by Springer in 2018.

His extensive experience at the largest public pediatric hospital in the region has led him to develop the skills needed to reconstruct a wide variety of deformities in children.

Dr Vlahovic is married and has two children.
